Families USA is a national, non-partisan advocate for healthcare consumers. In high school, he received a scholarship to attend a private school, which was one of the most expensive schools in the country. It was an eye-opening experience for him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;That gave me a great education, as well as an education of some of the major inequities in our society,&#8221; he said. &#8220;And that led me to want to give back, but also to fight back.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He wanted to find ways to empower the people he&#8217;d grown up with who had less opportunities with their health and other issues. He started as an organizer working on health care issues and ultimately pursued a path in consumer advocacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this episode, he also discusses:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Families USA&#8217;s mission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Impacts of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, or HR1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Medicaid expansion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Why healthcare equity is critical<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Healthcare affordability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What gives him hope<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And much more!
