2024 Healthy Congregations Retreat / Intersections Conference

Open to Great Plains United Methodists, the 2024 Healthy Congregations Retreat will focus on relationship and connection-building, leveraging strengths and talents, and developing effective partnerships – empowering teams and individuals to reach their desired congregational and community health goals. Join us Thursday, then stay for in-depth learning and discussion at Intersections on Friday.

Friday, April 19

Designed for participants from faith communities, public health, health professionals and community members, Intersections of Faith & Health explores current and emerging health issues with an emphasis on how stakeholders can work together and leverage their unique strengths to improve community health for all.

  • 8 a.m. – registration desk opens/breakfast
  • 9 a.m. Intersections program starts

The program and agenda for the 2024 Healthy Congregations Retreat and the Intersections of Faith & Health Conference are currently being finalized, but registration is now open. Please note we have limited availability of hotel rooms for the evening of the 18th; register by March 24 if you need overnight accommodations. Through Health Fund sponsorship there is no registration cost, and hotel room/tax will be covered (travel costs and incidentals are the responsibility of each participant).

Members of Healthy Congregations teams, Great Plains Conference United Methodists, and their invited community partners, are encouraged to participate in both the Apr. 18 Healthy Congregations Retreat and Apr. 19 Intersections of Faith and Health Conference. The Apr. 19 Intersections Conference is open to all Kansans, and especially valuable for faith communities, public health, health professionals, and individuals seeking to improve community health.

Participation

The April 18 Healthy Congregations Retreat is for Members of Healthy Congregations teams, Great Plains Conference United Methodists, and their invited community partners. The conversation continues day 2 as the Intersections of Faith & Health Conference, expanding to include health professionals, public heath, other faith denominations, and community members.
